Welcome to Ruby Lane Books! A historian once commented that every town needs a living room and our book store meets that need in Post, Texas.
We invite you to come by for a visit. Our ever-changing inventory includes the latest best sellers as well as classics, fiction, poetry, – new & used. We also keep a good selection of books about local & Texas history and a small, but high-quality children's section featuring Hank the Cowdog, Nancy Drew, Berenstain Bears and the latest by area authors Sue Swinson and Peg Davis.
Our gallery space showcases the work of area artists with the exhibit changing every month or so. The photography on canvas created by store owner, Rosa Latimer, is on permanent display.
We've got postcards and occasionally some quirky gift items – whatever suits our fancy. Check back often to learn about upcoming events.
Stop by and say "hello" when you're in Post. We’re on historic Main Street just southeast of McDonald's. The comfy red chairs and friendly cat, Ruby, are waiting for you! And…be sure to "like" us on Facebook.
Stop by and enjoy the current StreetsArt exhibit by store owner Rosa Latimer. The digital photography on canvas is a series featuring grafiti, street murals and other “street art.”
Post artist Polly Cravy has created unique angels made with materials she found on her ranch. Each is original and only available at Ruby Lane Books. This is just one example of Polly’s talent; she also works in oils and water color as well as textiles.
We’ve recently exhibited two pieces by Cleburne photographer, Mark McPherson. One features the vivid painted doors of Canyon Road in Santa Fe, NM. The other is 3 stained glass windows in the First Methodist Church in Dallas.
